November 2015, Rome. The IDS Ingegneria Dei Sistemi S.p.A. Air Navigation Division announces that it has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®.
The appraisal was performed by Inspearit Group.
CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
The CMMI® Institute, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges. The Institute is the home of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Development, Services, and Acquisition; the People Capability Maturity Model; and the Data Management Maturity Model (DMM)SM, which are capability improvement models that create high-performance, highmaturity cultures. The models are used in thousands of organizations worldwide to deliver business results that serve as differentiators in the global market.

Ottawa, CANADA, 22 July 2015 – IDS Ingegneria Dei Sistemi S.p.A., through its subsidiary IDS North America Ltd., has been awarded a contract by the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) to implement its latest Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) solution for the Piarco Flight Information Region (FIR).
The TT-ATFM project builds upon a foundation that was established through the implementation of two key projects that contribute to both the Strategic and Pre-Tactical Phases of flight. First the IDS AIXM 5.1 Aeronautical Database (AeroDB) provided a central storage repository of up-to-date static aeronautical data combined with the SPATIA Dynamic System which is used to manage dynamic aeronautical data such as NOTAM, Flight Plan, and Meteorological data. Secondly, the TTCAA PBN plan has allowed the state to strategically re-design its airspace and instrument flight procedures to improve traffic flows, reduce track miles, and generally create more efficiency within the FIR.
