Held between the 4th and 6th of October 2013 in the beautiful coastal city of Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, COBRAE 2013 saw an expert audience honored by 3 renowned speakers in each of 5 plenary sessions.
The event, conceived by ABMS, the Brazilian Association of Soil Mechanics, is a national conference held every four years with this year seeing the participation of over 500 professionals in the geotechnical environment, including engineers, geologists, teachers, researchers and representatives of public entities.
Present were some prominent names in the international arena: Prof. Alberto Sayão (PUC -Rio), Prof. Anna Laura Nunes (ABMS - RJ - COPPE - UFRJ), Prof. Paulo Maia (UENF), among others.
IDS Brazil had a prominent role as a "gold" sponsor and was one of the most visited stands for distinguished professionals with a sincere interest in georadars and GPR solutions.

In addition, we were very pleased to see the award given to the work presented in Parallel Session 6: Techniques and Instrumentation, "Monitoring of the VALE Córrego do Feijão mine with radar interferometry”, by our customer Mr. Tertius Costa (VALE).
The lecture presented by Mr. Paolo Papeschi on the use of the IBIS-FL ground based SAR for remote slope displacement monitoring reflected on current observations in our daily work and points to a broad market to be developed over the coming years.

In summary, COBRAE 2013 was a total success, whose fruits can be harvested in 2014.
