Development of instrumental high frequency GPR system for Sand-Box Models

The application is a feasibility study for the development of a high frequency (i.e. 25-50 GHz) Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Experimental activity addresses the evaluation of several design parameters: System Technology, Operative frequencies, Receiver sensitivity, Output power. The set-up is designed for EM characterization of homogenous geological material as well as for reflection measurement of multilayered samples. The system exploits down range resolution with dedicated “whitening filter” post-processing.
