A Modular System to Protect Against Small Caliber Projectiles

The Defender Ballistic Protection system provides safety and protection, for both personnel and equipment, against fire from small arms and light weapons. The system provides protection against penetration by and spalling from 5.56mm up to 12.7mm rounds.

The main characteristic of the Defender Ballistic Protection system is its versatility, derived from its specific method of construction, which enables the use of different components to optimize its stopping capacity in relation to the level of expected threat.

The Defender Blast Protection system is based on the Defender system of lightweight building panels which can be quickly deployed in the form of prefabricated units or as external cladding for an existing structure. The panels offer a high level of flexibility, being able to provide both blast and ballistic protection as well as fire protection and thermal and acoustic insulation. The outer layers can be provided with a variety of textures to help them blend into their surroundings or to create a more natural and pleasing appearance.

(IDS), which has over 30 years’ experience of producing electromagnetic engineering solutions and services for both civil and defense applications, and Acell Industries Ltd. which has produced fire resistant foams and composite panels for building applications for over 25 years.
