Description

The PANS-OPS familiarisation seminar is focused on informing aerodrome operatives, aviation consultants and surveyors of an understanding of the specifications in Procedures for Air Navigation Services, Operations (PANS-OPS) and CASA Manual of Standards part 173.

While the Seminar is focused on education of PANS-OPS, the two days are interactive and theory based, providing an overview for attendees and an understanding of instrument flight procedure design and solving the mystery of the visual segment surface (VSS).

The presented material highlights the construction of departure, en route and arrival of instrument flight procedures, additionally IDS will cover precision and non-precision approaches and offers all attendees a comprehension of the different type of procedures utilised such as, conventional and Area Navigation (RNAV) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) navigation systems.

Objectives & Goals

This familiarisation seminar objective is for attendees to be informed and to have an appreciation in understanding Instrument Flight Procedure design process, PANS-OPS concept and the impact on the aerodrome and its environment, from an aerodrome operative perspective.

Duration is 8 hours per day for 2 days.

Seminar Dates

Starts Tuesday, 3rd May 2016 (9:00 – 17:00).
Concludes Wednesday, 4th May 2016 (9:00 – 17:00).
