High Resolution Diagnostic Radar Imaging of ship components

Some detailed ship features can have a deep impact on a ship’s overall signature and can make a ship recognizable. However such features can be conveniently optimized and selected through a combined simulation-measurement approach in order to reduce risks (i.e. standardized components can be characterized by an “absolute” RCS value, so that it is possible to know, in advance, the average increase in RCS value w.r.t. the bare ship superstructure). Measurements can be used for verification of material properties for non-metallic components as well as to tune the EM model used for predictions.
