IBIS User Group in Brisbane

The Mining division of IDS Australasia hosted their Brisbane User Group event on 10th and 11th of June 2015 at the Sebel Hotel in Brisbane City.

There remains significant interest in this event with users and non-users from as far afield as Indonesia and New Zealand in attendance. IBIS users gave presentations on the use of IBIS configurations in their respective pits, where the multiple functionality of the instrument both for critical mission monitoring as well as for full pit monitoring was demonstrated.

IDS were appreciative of the interesting technical presentations given by independent industry specialists.

There is indeed a growing interest and move towards IBIS SAR technology. The much anticipated 270 degree Rover system was of particular interest. This technology is soon to be introduced to mining.

IDS Engineering Support Specialist Christian Altobelli updated IBIS users on current anticipated IBIS software developments. IBIS SAR technology is ever expanding, having evolved from critical and broad scale monitoring to full pit monitoring, including multi-scale processing, in which ultra-slow deformation trends as well as fast moving displacements are recognized simultaneously and in real time.
