Mackay, Australia, 10th November, 2014. IDS assessed, designed and provided the 3D protection model that is used for accurate height assessment of developments, is issued to local stakeholders for direct planning assessments, and is used by the Mackay City Council and town planners to assist in assessing if there would be any interference with the lowest surface of the protected airspace area.
Prescribed airspace at Mackay Airport
Mackay Airport group engaged IDS to model all of the protection surfaces on the most up to date and current information available that would include local mapping co-ordinates and height datum, aligning with the protection of Airspace Regulations (APAR) as per the Airports Act 1996.
The project was performed in a tight time frame, commencing on 15th June 2014 and delivered on 30th July 2014.
