First IBIS Radar Deployed in India

14th November 2016, Pisa Italy. IDS GeoRadar is pleased to announce that it has finally landed in the Indian continent to serve the Industrial giant Tata Steel in improving safety and productivity of its Highwall Coal mining operations in its West Bokaro Division at Ghatotand, Jharkhand State.

The IBIS-Rover, positioned more than 1 Km from the Highwall slope, is the only towable and rotating SAR-technology based interferometric radar on the market, able to scan up to 270 angle field view in less than 3-4 minutes.

An official commissioning ceremony was held on September 29th, 2016 at Tata Steel West Bokaro mine premises in presence of Mr. Sanjay Singh, GM, West Bokaro Division and Mr. Nerendra Kumar Gupta, Chief, Quarry SE.

IBIS, a SAR radar borne and risen up in the mines during last 8 years thanks to invaluable contribution of all the major mining Companies around the World.
