The second Review Meeting of STRUCTURES has been successfully held. The project, co-funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Program, reached its second year of activity, completing 5 of the 10 work packages that compose the work breakdown structure of the project. Another 3 work packages are on-going and will be completed shortly and the final 2 are close to starting.
STRUCTURES is conducting a comprehensive analysis of the threat to critical infrastructures due to intentional EMI, a growing possibility in the face of readily available HPEM sources and heightened terrorist activity. The guidelines, procedures and tools created will make an important contribution to the continued socioeconomic well-being of the EU and its citizens, and of major parts of the rest of the world.
The team implementing the project consists of 12 partners led by IDS. They met on the 25th of November 2014 at the THALES premises in Hengelo, Netherlands. Mr. Tjiem Khoen Liem, the European Commission Project Leader, also took part in the meeting; he appreciated the results of the second year of work presented during the Review Meeting.
