Mogalakwena Chooses IBIS Technology

March 25th 2015, Mogalakwena, South Africa. IDS is proud to announce that the IBIS technology has been selected by Anglo American Platinum for the Mogalakwena mine to perform real-time critical monitoring of their entire operations.

The Mogalakwena mine has been employing the unique IDS FPM360 Full Pit Monitoring solution since 2012 and it is now procuring five more IBIS units and Eagle-Vision cameras to complete its global coverage monitoring network.

IBIS radar provides the local geotechnical crew with the right tool for safety-critical monitoring of the entire pit wall extension, covering the detection of overall slope and sub-bench scale movements.

Thanks to the full pit coverage and slow-movement detection, the IBIS data is also used as a valuable source of information for the geotechnical assessment of slope performance and mine planning.

“There is no doubt that IBIS is the best solution for Mogalakwena, now and in the future” Ernest Rankhododo, Chief Geomechanical Engineer.
