Measurement of a very large VTS antenna

3rd July 2013, Pisa. The IDS Measurement Laboratory, supported by the ISD CEM Laboratory, recently completed the characterization of a 19ft VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) radar antenna in near field conditions. The antenna has been characterized in terms of gain and radiation pattern (0-360° in azimuth plane); this result exploits the capability of the IDS measurement chamber and measurement system, demonstrating the ability to measure even very large antennas in near field conditions. The antenna under test was provided by Consilium Italy Srl and is part of their VTS products range.
